CMS Cuts Neb Meds

Effective July 1,2007 Medicare plans to clasify albuterol (J7613) and Xopenex (J7614) under temporary code Q4094. Providers will bill both drugs at the same reimbursement rate.
Based on a weighted average sales price for both drugs , the revised reimbursement could mean a sharp increase for albuterol and a dramatic drop for Xopenex.
DuoNeb skated a cut for now likely because a new generic drug is due to be released anyday now.
Hi-Tech Healthcare will continue to monitor developments and make adjustments when neccessary.
